Description 

The Alliance for Water Stewardship, in partnership with SCS Global Services, offers training to organizations and individuals interested in:

  • Working with partners to advocate for water stewardship best practices at sites and across watersheds;
  • Understanding how water use impacts an organization’s direct operations and supply chains;
  • Using a management system approach to implement the International Water Stewardship Standard Version 2.0 (“AWS Standard”) at sites and within supply chains; and
  • Training, consulting and/or auditing to the AWS Standard.

The aim is to enable agricultural, industrial and commercial water users and their partners to access the knowledge needed to advocate for and implement the AWS Standard and those principles of water stewardship that align with the AWS System.

Cost: $450 per day (includes course materials, lunch and refreshments)

*Discounted rates available for multiple days and for non-profit organizations

Matt Howard
VP Water Stewardship at The Water Council & Director of AWS North America

Matt oversees The Water Council’s sustainability and stewardship initiatives which focus on rolling out the Alliance for Water Stewardship’s International Water Stewardship Standard in North America. Matt has ten years in sustainability program development and management including five years as Milwaukee’s Sustainability Director. Matt came to Milwaukee from Washington, DC where he worked at the U.S. Department of Commerce and spent time as a staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has an MA from George Washington University and a BA from Valparaiso University. He is a LEED and Lean Six Sigma accredited professional and currently serves on the EPA’s National Advisory Council on Environmental Policy and Technology.

Rae Mindock
SCS Global Services, Program Manager Water Certification

Rae Mindock is the Program Manager for Water Certifications at SCS Global Services. She has been actively involved with the AWS Standard since its inception and has conducted all phases of AWS activities from pre-assessment to certification management. She is participating in the review of the AWS Standard 2.0. Prior to coming to SCS, Rae's experience included consulting and program management in the environmental and sustainability space within industrial and municipal sectors. Rae has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Dylan Waldhuetter
Alliance for Water Stewardship, North America Program Manager

Dylan is responsible for program development and support related to The Water Council’s sustainability and stewardship initiatives with the Alliance for Water Stewardship North America. This includes management of the Global Water Center’s AWS Standard implementation and water stewardship plan. He also provides research assistance and day-to-day support for AWS North America which includes management of additional projects related to water stewardship strategy and implementation. Dylan has a M.S. in Water Policy & Management from the UW-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences.
