Henning Bloech Selected as European Division Head for SCS Global Services

Mey is the first company in Germany to put FSC®-certified clothing onto the market and is therefore also one of the first certificate holders for FSC®-certified clothing worldwide. This distinction enables consumers to consciously select products from companies that act responsibly when it comes to forest resources.

The interest in the entire story of products that we use in our daily lives is growing more and more. It is important for many consumers that they do not cause damage to nature or human beings, but instead make a contribution to social and environmental responsibility.

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) is an international organisation that promotes environmentally compliant, socially acceptable and economically sensible management of forests in the world. Forests should be secured as ecosystems and, in turn, the long-term use of wood should be guaranteed. The FSC® product certification makes sure that products with the FSC® label do actually make a contribution to sustainable forestry. It ensures that certified and controlled materials are used correctly from the forest to the last processing step.

As of the autumn/winter collection 2021, all Mey products containing FSC®-certified materials will be identifiable through labelling on the hang tag or packaging. It will thus be clear that these products contain wood-based materials such as Tencel™, modal fibres, micro modal or viscose, and have successfully undergone an independent examination by the third-party certification body SCS Global Services. They are thus FSC®-certified and stand for the promotion of sustainable forestry.
